How to Find Your Instagram Profile URL, Handle and QR Code

Your Instagram profile URL is https://www.instagram.com/ followed by your username and a slash, for example https://www.instagram.com/nike/. To copy it in the app, go to your profile, tap Share profile, then Copy link. Your handle is your username with an @ in front, and the same Share profile screen shows your QR code.

The URL, the handle and the QR code all point to the same profile, so whichever you share, people land in the same place. This guide shows where to find each, how to find someone else’s, and how to add a link to your bio. Searching for people is covered in how to search on Instagram.

What Is Your Instagram Profile URL?

Your profile URL is https://www.instagram.com/username/, with your username in place of “username” and no @ sign. The table shows the correct and common incorrect formats, as apidojo’s Instagram documentation lists them for profile inputs (Apify).

Format	Correct?
https://www.instagram.com/nike/	Yes
instagram.com/nike	Works in a browser, but missing https://
https://www.instagram.com/@nike/	No, URLs don’t use the @

How Do You Copy Your Instagram Link in the App?

You copy your link from the Share profile button on your own profile. Listed below are the 3 steps.

1. Tap your profile picture at the bottom right.
2. Tap Share profile.
3. Tap Copy link, then paste it wherever you need it.

On a computer, open your profile on instagram.com and copy the address from the browser bar.

What’s the Difference Between a Handle, a Username and a Display Name?

Your username and your handle are the same thing, written with or without the @; your display name is the separate, non-unique name shown above your bio. The table compares them.

Term	Example	Unique?	Where it appears
Username	nike	Yes	Your profile URL and the top of your profile
Handle	@nike	Yes	How people tag and mention you
Display name	Nike	No	Under your profile photo

Changing your username changes your profile URL, so old links stop working. Developers often need the numeric user ID instead, which never changes; see how to find an Instagram user ID.

How Do You Find Your Instagram QR Code?

Your QR code is on the Share profile screen: tap your profile picture, then Share profile, and the code is shown with options to save or share it. Anyone who scans it with their phone camera lands on your profile. It’s handy on business cards, menus and event signs.

How Do You Find Someone Else’s Instagram URL?

Open their profile, tap the three dots at the top right, and choose the option to copy the profile URL or share it. If you only know their username, the URL is https://www.instagram.com/ plus their username and a slash. Finding the person in the first place is covered in how to find someone on Instagram.

How Do You Add a Link to Your Instagram Bio?

Go to your profile, tap Edit profile, then Links, and add a URL; Instagram shows it under your bio. Profiles can carry several bio links, and on a profile they appear as the website and bio links fields that tools read from public profiles (Apify).

Why Profile URLs Matter for Data Collection

Profile URLs are the standard input for Instagram data tools, so a clean list of URLs is the starting point for any research on accounts. apidojo’s Instagram Scraper on Apify accepts profile URLs, and also hashtag, location, audio, reels, tagged-post and search URLs, and returns each account’s public posts with likes, comments, captions and dates, at $0.50 per 1,000 posts (Apify).

{
  "startUrls": ["https://www.instagram.com/nike/"],
  "maxItems": 100
}

Each profile should return at least 10 posts. The developer guide is how to scrape Instagram profiles and posts.
