**To search your own tweets on X, type `from:yourhandle` plus a keyword into the search bar, for example `from:yourhandle vacation`, and open the Latest tab.** Add `since:` and `until:` to search a date range. For a complete, offline copy of every post you have made, download your X archive.

This guide covers the 3 ways to search your own posts: the search bar, the Advanced search form and your archive. It applies the account method from [how to search tweets from a specific user](/blog/twitter-search/search-tweets-from-user/) to your own handle. Every operator this guide uses is listed in the [Twitter advanced search operators](/blog/twitter-search/advanced-search-operators/) reference.

## How Do You Search Your Own Tweets on X?

**You search your own tweets by adding `from:` and your handle, without the @ sign, to any search.** Listed below are the 4 steps.

1.  **Log in** to x.com or the X app ([X Help Center](https://help.x.com/en/using-x/x-advanced-search)).
2. **Type** `from:yourhandle` and the word you remember: `from:yourhandle recipe`.
3.  **Press** Enter.
4. **Open** **Latest** to see every match in time order.

Your handle is the name after @ in your profile address, not your display name.

## How Do You Search Your Own Tweets by Date?

**To search your own tweets by date, add `since:` and `until:` after `from:yourhandle`.** Your posts from 2019:

```
from:yourhandle since:2019-01-01 until:2020-01-01
```

`since:` includes its date and `until:` excludes it, so set `until:` one day after the last day you want ([twitter-advanced-search reference](https://github.com/igorbrigadir/twitter-advanced-search)). All date windows are explained in [how to search tweets by date](/blog/twitter-search/search-tweets-by-date/).

## Searching Your Own Tweets: Examples

**These searches cover the posts people look for in their own history most often.** Replace the words and dates.

| You want | Query |
| --- | --- |
| A post by keyword | from:yourhandle keyword |
| An exact phrase you wrote | from:yourhandle "exact phrase" |
| Posts from a year | from:yourhandle since:2019-01-01 until:2020-01-01 |
| Your replies to someone | from:yourhandle to:theirhandle |
| Your posts with photos | from:yourhandle filter:images |
| Your most liked posts | from:yourhandle min_faves:50 |
| Your posts that linked a site | from:yourhandle url:example.com |
| Your first posts | from:yourhandle until:2012-01-01 |

## How Do You Search Your Own Tweets in Your X Archive?

**Your X archive is a download of HTML and JSON files containing your profile, posts, media, followers and more, so you can search every post offline.** Request it on the web under More, Settings and privacy, Your account, then **Download an archive of your data**, and confirm your password ([X Help Center](https://help.x.com/en/managing-your-account/accessing-your-x-data)). Listed below are the 3 steps once the file arrives.

1. **Download** the .zip file from the email X sends, while logged in.
2. **Unzip** it and open the archive’s HTML file in a browser to browse and search your posts.
3. **Search** the posts file in the data folder with any text editor for exact words.

The archive is the reliable route when search misses a post; see [why X search can’t find an old tweet](/blog/twitter-search/old-tweet-not-showing/).

## Why Can’t You Find Your Own Tweet?

**You can’t find your own tweet in search when your account is protected, the post was deleted, or the words you remember differ from what you wrote.** Posts from protected accounts are not in public search results (twitter-advanced-search reference). Try a wider date window, a synonym with `OR`, or your archive.

## How to Export Your Own Tweets With apidojo

**Your X archive is free but arrives as a zip file; apidojo’s [Tweet Scraper V2](https://apify.com/apidojo/tweet-scraper) on Apify exports your public posts directly as a spreadsheet, with likes, reposts and replies for each.** Put your own query in `searchTerms`.

```
{
  "searchTerms": ["from:yourhandle -filter:retweets"],
  "sort": "Latest"
}
```

It costs $0.40 per 1,000 tweets. Developers reading their own account through the X API pay $0.001 per post as owned reads ([X API pricing](https://docs.x.com/x-api/getting-started/pricing)). See the [apidojo Twitter Scraper](/scrapers/twitter-scraper/).
