**To search tweets by likes on X, add `min_faves:` and a number to your query, for example `bitcoin min_faves:1000` for posts with at least 1,000 likes.** Use `min_retweets:` for reposts and `min_replies:` for replies. Put a minus sign in front of any of them to set a maximum instead.

Engagement filters are the quickest way to cut noise from a search. They sit alongside the other filters in the [Twitter advanced search operators](/blog/twitter-search/advanced-search-operators/) reference.

## Twitter Engagement Search Operators

**Twitter has 3 engagement operators for minimums, the same 3 negated for maximums, and one filter for any engagement at all.** Listed below are the 7 operators ([twitter-advanced-search reference](https://github.com/igorbrigadir/twitter-advanced-search)).

| Operator | Finds posts | Example |
| --- | --- | --- |
| min_faves:N | With at least N likes | nasa min_faves:10000 |
| min_retweets:N | With at least N reposts | nasa min_retweets:5000 |
| min_replies:N | With at least N replies | nasa min_replies:1000 |
| -min_faves:N | With fewer than N likes | nasa -min_faves:500 |
| -min_retweets:N | With fewer than N reposts | nasa -min_retweets:500 |
| -min_replies:N | With fewer than N replies | nasa -min_replies:100 |
| filter:has_engagement | With any likes, replies or reposts; negate it for none | breaking -filter:has_engagement |

Counts above about 1,000 are approximate. The like operator is `min_faves:` on X web search; `faves` is X’s old internal name for likes.

## How Do You Search Tweets With a Minimum Number of Likes?

**To search tweets with a minimum number of likes, add `min_faves:` followed by the number, with no space after the colon.** Listed below are the 3 steps.

1. **Type** your keyword or account: `from:NASA`.
2.  **Add** the threshold: `from:NASA min_faves:5000`.
3. **Open** **Top** to see the most engaged posts first, or **Latest** for time order.

The Advanced search form has Minimum likes, Minimum replies and Minimum reposts fields that write the same operators.

## How Do You Search Tweets With a Minimum Number of Reposts?

**To search tweets with a minimum number of reposts, add `min_retweets:` and the number.** `"product launch" min_retweets:100` returns launch posts reposted at least 100 times. The operator keeps its old name after reposts replaced retweets.

## How Do You Search Tweets With a Minimum Number of Replies?

**To search tweets with a minimum number of replies, add `min_replies:` and the number.** `topic ? min_replies:20` returns questions about a topic that drew at least 20 replies, a quick way to find active discussions. Reading those replies is covered in how to search Twitter replies.

## How Do You Set a Maximum Number of Likes?

**To set a maximum number of likes, put a minus sign before the operator: `-min_faves:50` returns posts with fewer than 50 likes.** Combine a minimum and a maximum for a band: `topic min_faves:100 -min_faves:1000` returns posts with 100 to 999 likes.

## Engagement Search Examples

**These engagement searches cover the tasks people use thresholds for most.** Replace the words, handles and numbers.

| Task | Query |
| --- | --- |
| An account’s most liked posts | from:username min_faves:5000 |
| Viral posts about a topic this year | topic min_faves:1000 -filter:retweets since:2026-01-01 |
| Heavily discussed questions | topic ? min_replies:20 |
| Widely shared links | url:yourdomain.com min_retweets:50 |
| Unanswered questions you can reply to | topic ? -filter:has_engagement |
| Mid-sized posts in a band | topic min_faves:100 -min_faves:1000 |

Topic research built on engagement filters is in [how to find viral tweets about any topic](/blog/twitter-search/find-viral-tweets/).

## Why Do Engagement Filters Return Few Results?

**Engagement filters return few results when the threshold is too high for the topic or the date window is too narrow.** Lower the number by a factor of 10 and widen the window, then raise it again. Engagement filters also apply to the repost rather than the original post when combined with repost filters, so avoid `filter:nativeretweets` in the same query ([twitter-advanced-search reference](https://github.com/igorbrigadir/twitter-advanced-search)).

## How to Rank Tweets by Engagement With apidojo

**X search filters by engagement but can’t sort a full result set by it, so apidojo’s [Tweet Scraper V2](https://apify.com/apidojo/tweet-scraper) on Apify exports the posts with `likeCount`, `retweetCount`, `replyCount`, `quoteCount` and `bookmarkCount` for sorting in a spreadsheet.** Pass the threshold in the query, or use the actor’s `minimumFavorites`, `minimumRetweets` and `minimumReplies` inputs ([Apify](https://apify.com/apidojo/tweet-scraper)).

```
{
  "searchTerms": ["bitcoin min_faves:1000 min_retweets:100"],
  "sort": "Top"
}
```

It costs $0.40 per 1,000 tweets. See the [apidojo Twitter Scraper](/scrapers/twitter-scraper/).

## Questions people ask

### Is it min\_faves or min\_likes on X?

`min_faves:` is the like filter on X web search.

### Can you search tweets by view count?

No, X search has no operator for views. Views appear on each post but can't be used as a search filter.

### Can you combine several engagement filters?

Yes, `min_faves:500 min_retweets:50 min_replies:10` requires all three.

### Do engagement filters work on old tweets?

Yes, combine them with `since:` and `until:`; see [how to search tweets by date](/blog/twitter-search/search-tweets-by-date/).
