**To search tweets by date on your phone, open the search tab in the X app, type your keyword followed by `since:YYYY-MM-DD until:YYYY-MM-DD`, and tap search, then Latest.** The operators work the same in the iPhone and Android apps as on the web. For the fill-in Advanced search form, open x.com/search-advanced in your phone’s browser.

The date operators are explained in full in [how to search tweets by date](/blog/twitter-search/search-tweets-by-date/). This guide covers the phone-specific steps and the typing mistakes that break a mobile search. Every operator this guide uses is listed in the [Twitter advanced search operators](/blog/twitter-search/advanced-search-operators/) reference.

## How Do You Search Tweets by Date in the X App?

**You search tweets by date in the X app by typing the date operators straight into the search bar.** Listed below are the 5 steps for iPhone and Android.

1. **Open** the X app and sign in; search needs a logged-in account ([X Help Center](https://help.x.com/en/using-x/x-advanced-search)).
2. **Tap** the magnifying glass to open search.
3. **Type** the keyword and the dates: `concert since:2024-06-01 until:2024-07-01`.
4. **Tap** search on the keyboard.
5. **Tap** the **Latest** tab to list every match newest first.

Add `from:username` before the dates to search one account, for example `from:NASA since:2024-01-01 until:2024-02-01`.

## How Do You Use the Advanced Search Form on a Phone?

**To use the Advanced search form on a phone, open x.com/search-advanced in Safari, Chrome or another mobile browser while signed in to X.** Fill in the Words, People and Dates fields and tap Search. X describes Advanced search as a feature of X.com for logged-in accounts (X Help Center); the page is reachable from a phone browser as well as a desktop.

## Why Does Date Search Fail on Mobile?

**Date search fails on mobile mostly because the phone keyboard changes what you typed.** Listed below are the 5 typing problems and their fixes.

| Problem | What happens | Fix |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Autocorrect adds a space after the colon | since: 2024-06-01 returns nothing | Delete the space: since:2024-06-01 |
| Smart punctuation changes quotes | Curly quotes break an exact phrase | Turn off Smart Punctuation (iPhone) or retype the quotes |
| Keyboard capitalises the operator | Since: may not work | Keep operators lowercase |
| Dashes replaced | A long dash between date parts breaks the date | Use the hyphen key: 2024-06-01 |
| Wrong tab | Top shows only popular posts | Tap Latest |

Keep `OR` uppercase, and every other operator lowercase ([twitter-advanced-search reference](https://github.com/igorbrigadir/twitter-advanced-search)).

## Mobile Date Search Examples

**These date searches are short enough to type comfortably on a phone.** Replace the words, handles and dates.

| Goal | Query |
| --- | --- |
| A topic on one day | topic since:2024-11-05 until:2024-11-06 |
| An account in one month | from:username since:2025-03-01 until:2025-04-01 |
| Your own posts in a year | from:yourhandle since:2020-01-01 until:2021-01-01 |
| Popular posts in a period | topic min_faves:500 since:2026-01-01 |
| The last few hours | topic within_time:3h |

Finding your own posts is covered in [how to search your own tweets](/blog/twitter-search/search-your-own-tweets/), and someone else’s in [how to search someone’s tweets by date](/blog/twitter-search/someones-tweets-by-date/).

## Can You Save a Date Search on Your Phone?

**Yes, you can reuse a date search by copying the query text into your notes, or by bookmarking the x.com search results page in your browser.** A browser bookmark keeps the full query in the page address, so it reopens the same search.

## What If You Need the Results as a File?

**X shows search results on screen only, so exporting a date search to a spreadsheet needs a scraper on a computer.** The same query runs in apidojo’s [Tweet Scraper V2](https://apify.com/apidojo/tweet-scraper), at $0.40 per 1,000 tweets; the method is in [how to scrape tweets by date range](/blog/twitter-scraping/scrape-tweets-by-date/).

## The scrapers behind this

- [Tweet Scraper V2 Tweets from searches, profiles, Lists and URLs; 49–64 tweets/sec; minimum 50 per query $0.40 / 1K tweets](/scrapers/twitter-scraper/)
