# How to Clear Your TikTok Search History

**To clear your TikTok search history, tap the search icon, tap See more under your recent searches, then Clear all and confirm.** You can also go to Profile, the menu, Activity center, then Search history, and delete searches from there. To remove a single search, tap the X next to it.

Clearing your history removes your past searches from your account, but it doesn’t change who can see them, because nobody else can. ## How Do You Clear TikTok Search History From the Search Bar?

**The quickest way is from the search screen itself.** Listed below are the 4 steps.

1.  **Tap** the magnifying glass at the top right of the Home screen.
2.  **Tap** **See more** under your recent searches, if it appears.
3.  **Tap** **Clear all**.
4.  **Tap** **Clear** to confirm.

To remove one search instead of all of them, tap the **X** next to it.

## How Do You Delete TikTok Search History in the Activity Center?

**The Activity center lists your past searches and lets you delete them in bulk.** Listed below are the 5 steps.

1.  **Tap** **Profile**, then the menu (three lines).
2.  **Tap** **Activity center**.
3.  **Tap** **Search history**.
4.  **Tap** **Select** at the top right.
5.  **Choose** the searches, or select all, and delete them.

Use this method if the search bar option doesn’t appear on your version of the app.

## What Happens When You Clear Your TikTok Search History?

**Clearing removes past searches from your recent list and Activity center, and TikTok stops using them to suggest searches.** It doesn’t delete videos you watched, accounts you followed or your For You feed preferences. ## Why Do Searches Still Show After Clearing?

**Searches can still appear after clearing because the suggestions under the search bar also include trending searches and recommendations based on your viewing, not just your history.** The “You may like” list isn’t your history, so clearing history doesn’t remove it.
