# How to Scrape TikTok Followers and Following Lists

## How Do You Scrape TikTok Followers?

**You scrape followers by pointing TikTok User Scraper at a profile and setting `getFollowers`, `getFollowing` or both to `true`.** Both are off by default, and with both off the actor returns only the base profile. Each run must fetch at least 10 users, and single-profile runs with both switches off aren’t allowed (Apify). Listed below are the 4 steps.

1.  **Open** TikTok User Scraper.
2.  **Add** the profile URL, such as `https://www.tiktok.com/@nasa`.
3.  **Set** `getFollowers` to `true` for followers, `getFollowing` to `true` for following, or both.

## What Data Do You Get for Each Follower?

**Each follower or followed account comes back as a profile record: `username`, `nickname`, `bio`, `followers`, `following`, `likes`, `videos`, `verified`, `region`, `language`, and `hasEmail` and `hasPhone` flags that show whether contact details appear in the bio.** That’s enough to sort an audience by size, filter out empty or suspicious accounts, and spot creators worth contacting (Apify).

## How Many Followers Can You Scrape?

**There’s no fixed cap: TikTok User Scraper paginates through follower lists, so `maxItems` is what limits the output.** The actor’s documentation warns that a creator with 1 million followers generates 1 million user records if `getFollowers` is on with no `maxItems` limit, so set a cap while testing. Profiles need at least 10 followers or following for stable extraction (Apify).

## Why Can’t You See Someone’s Followers or Following List?

**TikTok lets users set their following list to Only me, and private accounts hide both their followers and following lists from anyone they haven’t approved.** A public account’s followers list can’t be hidden on its own.
