# How to Know If Someone Blocked You on TikTok

TikTok doesn't tell you when someone blocks you, so the only proof is a comparison: if their profile won't load for you but loads on tiktok.com while you're logged out, or for a friend, they've blocked you.

**TikTok doesn’t tell you when someone blocks you, so the only proof is a comparison: if their profile won’t load for you but loads on tiktok.com while you’re logged out, or for a friend, they’ve blocked you.** If it doesn’t load for anyone, the account was deleted, deactivated, banned or renamed instead.

There’s no list of people who blocked you, in the app or anywhere else. This guide shows the signs, the one check that confirms a block, and how to rule out the look-alikes. What blocking does is covered in [how to block someone on TikTok](/blog/tiktok-profiles/block-someone/). If the block was yours, [how to unblock someone on TikTok](/blog/tiktok-profiles/unblock-blocked-list/) shows where your blocked list lives, and [how to block hashtags, sounds and keywords on TikTok](/blog/tiktok-profiles/block-hashtags-keywords/) covers muting topics instead of people.

## Does TikTok Tell You When Someone Blocks You?

**No, TikTok sends no notification when someone blocks you, and it keeps no list of the accounts that blocked you.** Blocking is designed to be silent ([TikTok Help Center](https://support.tiktok.com/en/safety-hc/account-and-user-safety/blocking-the-user)). You can only infer a block from what stops working.

## Signs Someone Blocked You on TikTok

**A block shows up as a set of things that stop working at once, all tied to one account.** Listed below are the 5 signs, strongest first.

1. **Their profile won’t open for you**, showing a message that the account can’t be found, while it still exists for others.
2. **They’re missing from search** when you type their exact @username.
3. **They vanished from your Following or Friends list** without you unfollowing them.
4. **Your chat with them stops working**: the thread is still there, but you can’t send new messages.
5. **Their comments disappear** from videos where you remember seeing them.

Any one sign alone can have another cause. Two or three together, tied to one account, point strongly to a block.

## How Do You Confirm That Someone Blocked You?

**You confirm a block by checking the same profile from somewhere they haven’t blocked: a logged-out browser, a second account, or a friend’s phone.** A block applies only to your account, so the profile still exists for everyone else. Listed below are the 4 steps.

1. **Copy** their username, the part after @.
2. **Open** a private browser window, not logged in, and go to `tiktok.com/@username`.
3. **Compare**: if the profile and videos load there but not in your app, you’re blocked.
4. **Double-check** with a friend’s account if the logged-out page asks you to sign in.

## Blocked, Deleted, Banned or Renamed?

**The account looks gone in all four cases, but only a block is invisible to you alone.** The table shows how to tell them apart.

| What happened | What you see | What a logged-out browser or a friend sees |
| --- | --- | --- |
| They blocked you | Account can’t be found | The normal profile |
| They deleted or deactivated the account | Account can’t be found | Account can’t be found |
| TikTok banned the account | Account can’t be found or a banned notice | The same |
| They changed their username | Old @username can’t be found | Old @username can’t be found, but the person appears under the new one |
| They made their account private | Profile loads, videos hidden | The same, unless they follow them |

A username change is the most common false alarm. Search their display name or a phrase from their bio before deciding anything; ways to find a person again are in [how to find someone on TikTok](/blog/tiktok-search/find-someone-on-tiktok/).

## Can You See a List of Who Blocked You on TikTok?

**No, no app, website or tool can show a list of who blocked you on TikTok, because TikTok doesn’t publish that information anywhere.** Your own Blocked accounts list, under Settings and privacy, then Privacy, shows only the people you blocked. Apps that promise a “who blocked me” list either guess or collect your login, so avoid them.

## What Can You Do If Someone Blocked You?

**You can’t undo someone else’s block; only they can unblock you.** Making a new account to get around a block can break TikTok’s rules on evading blocks and harassment. If the block came after a misunderstanding, reaching the person through another channel you already share is the respectful route.

## How to Check Whether a Profile Still Exists With apidojo

**apidojo’s [TikTok Scraper](https://apify.com/apidojo/tiktok-scraper) on Apify reads public TikTok pages without logging in, so it shows whether a profile still exists publicly, the same check as a logged-out browser.** If it returns the profile’s videos and details, the account exists, and an “account can’t be found” in your app means a block (Apify).

```
{
  "startUrls": ["https://www.tiktok.com/@username"],
  "maxItems": 10
}
```

It costs $0.30 per 1,000 posts, and the profile needs at least 10 public posts. The same question on Twitter is answered in [who blocked me on Twitter (X)](/blog/x-guides/who-blocked-me-on-twitter/). Profile privacy settings are covered in [TikTok profile views](/blog/tiktok-profiles/profile-views/).

## Questions people ask

### If someone blocks you on TikTok, can you still see their comments?

No, their comments are hidden from you while the block is in place, including on other people's videos.

### Does 'couldn't find this account' mean you're blocked?

Not always; the same message appears for deleted, deactivated and banned accounts. Check from a logged-out browser to know which.

### Can someone who blocked you still see your profile?

No, a block hides both profiles from each other until it's lifted.

### Can you see who blocked you on TikTok?

No, TikTok has no such list; you can only confirm one suspected account at a time.
